When I started reading this book, I wasn't sure how long it would take or whether it would hold my interest but I really enjoyed it. The style of writing is different as it is from two different perspectives with 17 years difference. So writing as the mum (Josephine) back when she was young and then as Josephines daughter - Clare and seeing things from a 10 year olds perspective. It was easy to follow and understand even when different chapters were at different years and character.

Shows how the same thing can appear differently from various angles and even then they may not be the truth.

This story was heart-warming and heart-breaking at the same time. With Josephine holding a dark secret from her past that she can not work out but knows that it lies with her parents, and then Clare who cant understand why her mum doesn't want to see her parents. The conflict between them both and the love that they share. The final pages are the most emotional although I feel there are still loose ends but this also lets the reader be able to finish the story themselves.

I read this book over a week and really enjoyed it especially as it is not my normal read.
