Another standout book from Clements, which frankly, I've come to expect! Although the book dives straight into the main plot, with no unnecessary build-up, it took me a couple of chapters to be really hooked. Furthermore, when I reached what felt like a convincing ending, there were a good 100 pages or so left. I was expecting some shocking twist or turn but instead, I got a slightly redundant couple of chapters. I actually quite enjoyed reading them but it did feel very much like a change of pace to the main part of the story. I must say though that when I see a Clements book, I always know I'm going to enjoy it and this was no exception. The characters were likeable and detestable in equal measure and the plot was interesting and tense enough to keep me hooked.
