I think this would be a fascinating book for anyone who is interested in transplant surgery, or the history of medicine more generally.
However, unfortunately for me as a layperson, I found parts of it too detailed and therefore difficult to read so not that enjoyable.
The book flips between telling the story of the career of the author, and some historical facts about the history of transplant surgery. I did not warm to his style of writing, particularly when telling his own story.
Some of the history of transplants was really interesting if a little complicated, but the writing style did not make it always easy to read. I think I would have preferred more of a 'beginners' guide rather than all the detail.
Sorry, not for me this one.
