The cover is eye catching being right orange and the illustration of the characters makes it clear where the story is set and that it is a contemporary YA novel; I get Eleanor and Park vibes.
It does sound the like typical YA novel though - the kind of novel with drama, funny parts, happy parts, sad parts but will all end up happily ever after. This puts me off as I feel like I have read it before.
