I was quite interested in the book as soon as I saw it on this website. Luckily, I had reached enough points to claim it, and I did so immediately. The waiting was quite dreadful: I could not wait to read it!
When it finally arrived two days ago, I immediately started reading 'How it all blew up' and I have to say I am in love with it.

The story of Amir, a gay and Iranian boy who, afraid of a classmate blackmailing him, runs the day of his graduation and finds himself in Rome, in Italy.
During his time in Italy, Amir learns to be comfortable with who he is, with his new gay family. A month later, after dates and adventures, Amir and his family find themselves telling the story of Amir running away in an interrogation room, due to an argument on the plane.

I really enjoyed this book, and it reminded me a lot of my childhood in Italy. I have read many books where characters spend their time in Italy and not in one of them I have read the reality of living there (even the English to Italian translation was on point.)

Arvin Ahmed is a great, compelling and hilarious writer and I cannot wait to read more of his books.
