I loved this book, it resonated with me a lot! This was my firt time reading anything by a muslim, gay author and I was not disappointed. I think the writing style was clear and honest, and very easy to get sucked into the story. I thought the multiple view points from the protagonist and his family were very interesting, it made me really emotional. Because I could see his fear of rejection and his parents fear of not knowing where their son has gone, also his little sister is amazing, so sassy! Overall, I thought it was a brilliant novel, and considering the seriousness of the subject matter I thought there was an excellent balance of emotion and humor. Being gay myself I could really identify with this book, and I wish I had read this when I was younger. It would be a useful book for people struggling to come out, and it shows the experiences of the author and his family.
