The first thing that caught my eye about this book was the fun, bright cover. I thought it was perfect for the story, modern and reflected the lighter elements of the book well. The illustration of the main character, Amir, was exactly as I would have envisioned him. I planned to add this book to my tbr list, so was so, so happy when I received an arc copy! It's definitely brightened up my bookshelf!

This book was enjoyable to read, with likeable characters and an interesting premise. The differing perspectives that the story is written from was something I liked, giving the thoughts and feelings of various characters and more background to the way in which the character's personality is developed.

I also really liked that this book was slightly educational, teaching me about sexuality and how this is approached within different religions. The balance between serious topics and fun, lighthearted romance was perfect while still making sure the reader understood the points and themes of the book.

I did feel that the story was a little bumpy in places, but the finer details such as the addition of the Italian and Persian cultures helped to distract from this and make the story stronger.

I received comments from family and friends about how good this book looked and sounded, so I have recommended this book to them to read too!

Thank you to Readers First, Hot Key Books and Arvin Ahmadi for the arc in exchange for my fair and honest review.
