This book started off well. It looked as if it would be insightful and have some depth in a descriptive location. However I gradually lost interest, to be honest I struggled a little to read the last third as there wasn't much keeping my attention.

I'm not sure what genre this book fall into, not that it has to conform specifically but it seemed to jump from one to another. The characters started off with definition, but we got into two narratives quickly that moved backwards in time as we understood their histories. Sometimes it was not immediately apparent if we were looking at them in real time or the past which makes for clumsy understanding.

I liked the idea of the intertwining life stories but I couldn't in all honest recommend this book unless you are looking for a light read. It's not that the characters are unbelievable, it's more that it's quite superficial.
