Ria is the manager of the local women's refuge centre. She's seen her share of violent and manipulative men and knows exactly how to deal with them. But when she starts receiving messages from someone who is clearly stalking her she thinks she can deal with it. But can she really?

An interesting book with contrasts - I found the sub plot about a specific woman dealing with horrendous domestic abuse engrossing and gripping, and these were definitely my favourite chapters in the book. And I loved hearing about the women who were staying at the refuge and hearing about the sadness and horror that had blighted their lives. Ria, on the other hand, irritated me a little. I felt there was too much over analysis of her thoughts and feelings, and I felt it was unrealistic that she was keeping her stalker a secret from her husband - particularly as she would be very aware of the lengths that a violent man would go to. Aside from that though, the story certainly held my attention and I loved the way it all came together at the end.
