I really, really enjoyed reading this. The main character, Ria really is a superwoman, helping women who need to flee a violent or controlling partner. She has a back story too which we learn later in the book, as well as a partner who sounds too good to be true. The bond of her family is really heart -warming and the good work she does overrides the feelings of unease hearing of the violence and abuse (nothing is described graphically). She experiences pressures and a sense of danger in her job which felt very real in their descriptions. The last pages really had my heart in my mouth and I couldn’t read it fast enough. I haven’t read any books by this author before but, will be sure to now!
