This is a fresh and hard hitting approach to the horror of domestic abuse suffered by central characters in the book. Domestic abuse is an emotive story that needs to be told. The main charaters within the book are Ria and Tanya.

Ria is a no nonesense manager of SafeMe a refuge for survivors of domestic abuse. The plot thickens when she too begins to experience threatening texts and harrowing incidences of stalking. Her world begins to crumble as she finds it difficult to follow her own advice in relation to keeping safe and empowered against a sinister perpetrator. It further eludes to Ria's past that she has worked so hard to avoid.

Tanya story centers around her living hell, suffering appalling domestic abuse on a daily basis. The book cleverily describes psychological abuse of victims and how in some ways, is worse than physical abuse. Victims continue to suffer a longtime after bruises have healed. The threads of the story link Ria's and Tanya's life together, but how???

In many ways an interesting read although in parts alittle slow and disjointed. This I feel was not helped by the font size of print being very small leading to poor concentration. However Ward delivers an important message to raise awareness about the horrors of domestic abuse.
