A packed historical novel from the early 1800's in New York this is the second book in a series but I had no problem relating with the main characters and understanding their background. A great insight into the politics and living of this era and Paddy Hirsch has done his research well . Justy and Kerry the main characters, have a will they or won't they get together .The novel is fast paced and jaunty and is full of twists and turns . The book also showcases the race and class divide of the American dream at the turn of the nineteen century and the hardships that took place. The end was left open so there are obviously more books up Paddys sleeve to follow in due course. Cannot wait as this book was highly enjoyable.
