This is such a great piece of storytelling and I loved it. I, perhaps rather ignorantly, had not heard of Grace Dent before coming across this book. However, I am now completely obsessed and read everything I can find that she has written. Her style is witty, intelligent and unputdownable. She manages to be honest about the difficult aspects of her life without it coming across as boastful. Her father's story is so beautifully intertwined with her own that I sometimes forgot that this was a memoir of a real person and not a work of fiction as everything seemed to flow so perfectly. The stories were moving, powerful and funny - sometimes all at the same time! I would highly recommend this book to anyone, regardless of their interest in Grace personally. It provides a joyous account of food, family and finding yourself. A fantastic novel, the perfect Christmas gift.
