I loved how many different angles 'Improvement' had. Not only did this keep things interesting but it gave the story substance. Silber does this very well and successfully weave the different characters into the story and in some ways they are all related! I liked how relatable all of the characters were - this was especially reflected in the language and tone of the book. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who likes to read about ordinary people and their lives.
It was an easy read and I really enjoyed it. I read this whilst on holiday and it was perfect. This was the first book I have ever read from Joan Silber and was not disappointed and this will definitely not be the last I read from her.
