This is a personal view of Emma Sky's travels through the middle east during the last 20 odd years . The book is packed with facts and Sky has researched her subject well with times dates and local people. She reports with compassion and her love of the people who live there. The photographs are a lovely extra to bring her travels to life and the images of the people she has met on her journey. Emma tries to bring in all sides and remain neutral throughout. This is the first book I have read on this subject and this author and I came away with a better idea of the culture and the people that Emma was trying to portray.I woud not hesitate to read more books by this author as I enjoyed her style of writing.
