I don't know how I have missed Anne Holt's previous books as I am a big fan of Jo Nesbo and the other Scandinavian and Icelandic crime authors.
I loved this book which is the last in the series about cold case police investigators, Hanne Wilhelmsen who is confined to a wheelchair, and Henrik Holme who has his own health issues. (Just realised this sounds a bit like Jeffrey Deaver's detectives Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs.)
As you would expect from an author with Anne Holt's credentials, this book is well written and the plot expertly crafted and brought to an unexpected but brilliant conclusion.
The translation of this book was also faultless - no awkward or stilted phrases.
I have now added the previous 9 Hanne Wilhemsen books to my 'must read' list.
