This story blew me away. Literally, couldn't put it down! I started reading it because I always love a good mother-daughter/journey to find your roots story, but this was beyond expectations. I don't exactly know why I loved it so much, I couldn't relate as it's so different from my personal story, and yet I could totally relate because it felt so real, as if it was my best friend's story or something. The characters felt so human, exploring their feelings and their flaws as they grow up, getting to know the real world and its hardships and heartbreak. But most importantly love, in the people and in the little things that can keep you going. I loved that the characters and the topics explored had more than one side to discover, more than one side from which the story could be told. Really really loved this book, made me feel like I've been on a life journey too!
