f If I had to sum up my feelings about this book in one word, it would be amazing. I read a lot of fantasy, and INTO THE CROOKED PLACE really stood out to me because it doesn't follow the same trend as many other best-selling YA titles these days.
The story is set in Creije, a mythical city in which sorcery is forbidden. People looking for a fast buck at night buy spells and herbs from black market dealers, who share the money with their crime lord bosses. Tavia is one of them, and her boss, Wesley, was a childhood friend of hers until he was corrupted by power and turned almost as evil as the others.
While it wasn't my cup of tea, it kept me entertained and interested in a way that other books had failed to do. I'm looking forwards to seeing how everything works out in the sequel because this book ends on a cliffhanger. Loved this book and would recommend it to others.
