This was a brilliant read, easy going with plenty of humour yet it had some serious issues within it. Starting with the cancellation of the much hyped Glass Lake school musical production due to the discovery of a body in a nearby river. The story gradually reveals small details which narrow down who it might be but keeps you guessing until near the end but meanwhile the main narrative leads you to why it happened based on looking back on recent events told from several points of view. This is a really well planned novel with some fascinating characters, most have aspects of them exaggerated but it fits really well with the humour and the parents that make up the dreaded PTA better known as The Lakers. This is a fabulous small town novel with a school that will do anything to protect its reputation and whom definitely has its finger on the pulse far more than the police who are investigating events….
