This thriller is dark, gritty and a real page turner, I devoured it so quickly! Even during periods I HAD to put it down (Work, grrr) I found myself thinking about what might happen next, so as soon as I finished I flew through the rest!
The book starts off with Geo in a courtroom, a brief insight into what has happened... She is testifying against her Ex - Serial Killer boyfriend - Calvin - for the murder of her best friend, which she has signed a plea bargain and put herself away for 5 years, for the part she played in her friend's death. Immediately I had a million questions that I needed answers too, so I needed to find out more.
Next the journey takes you to Geo's time in prison, with flashbacks to their teenage days. This slowly gives you more of a picture to build up - again creating a million more questions, but also revealing Calvin managed to escape custody. Just before Geo is released from Prison more bodies slowly start turning up, murdered in a similar way to her old friend, with more brutal murders once she is out of prison. Is Calvin finding his way back to Geo?
This book was so creepy I just couldn't turn the page fast enough, there were so many twists that I was kept guessing the entire way through, you don't see the final twist coming until it is told either! (Well I didn't!) I really enjoyed Geo as a character, whilst she made some absolutely terrible decisions I connected with her and enjoyed watching her story unfold.
The ending was executed brilliantly. It really tied up all of the loose ends whilst hitting you with fresh worry and suspense for what comes next!
Overall: 4.5**** I absolutely loved this thriller, it was dark and twisted and downright disgusting at times, but incredible nevertheless! If you're looking for a thriller that keeps you guessing the entire way through then I absolutely can't recommend this book enough! Beautifully written, wonderfully creepy and incredibly clever!
