I was expecting this to be a bit of a tongue in cheek comedy - after all Mummy assassins do make for your average heroine in a thriller.
There are some moments that any parent will identify with, and will raise a smile, but this is also a decent tale of underground shenanigans and secret services.
Dasha, glam Russian, wants her hubby bumped off. He needs to be stopped from rolling out some global software that could cause worldwide carnage.
Lex Tyler, just back from maternity leave, is the woman for the job. What's more as she infiltrates Dasha's yummy mummy world she can even take her baby, Gigi, along on undercover ops with her.
Old instincts are still sharp though and something doesn't feel right about this job. Is there a mole in Platform Eight (the secret service she works for)? More to the point can she uncover them before they leave her daughter an orphan.
There are bits of Lex's family life that every parent will identify with and it's the old fashioned work/life balance many struggle with, just with bells on!
A great story of hunting down the baddies whilst keeping baby happy! It's a juggling act I wouldn't want to attempt!
