As I started to read this book I thought it would be just like all the others I had read about an abusive husband, but the more I read the more unexpected twists and turns the more I began to enjoy it! This book didn't have your typical ending which was a nice surprise and a change from a lot of other books I've read. The characters were realistic and it showed how difficult it is for an abusive victim to get away from their perpetrator. It also showed how vulnerable they can be, going from one abusive situation to another. But, it showed how strong these individuals are and how they fight every single day to face their terrors and get to a better life. It is definitely a book I would recommend for people to read.
