Thank you To Readers First and Corvus Books for a review copy of this book in return for my honest review.

This is the first 'submarine' book I've read in nearly 30 years - the last was The Hunt for Red October. This is also the first book I've read by Michael Ridpath.

I enjoyed this thriller and didn't guess the final twist until it was revealed. The book moves seamlessly between the events of the 1983 deep under the Atlantic and the events taking place during the Guth family Thanksgiving dinner during 2019 in Norfolk in the UK.

The characters in this novel have to deal with murder and secrets which threaten to split their family apart. A compelling page turner to be enjoyed by readers of all ages.
