The tragedy of losing a child is delicately described through Duncan and Lola, their two very different approaches at dealing with the loss of the daughter creates a bigger void between them. Duncan’s determined attitude and desperate need to keep busy and not talk about Clarissa, further isolates Lola, who delves into the memories and is constantly constrained by grief. Duncan takes Lola to scan Francisco for their anniversary to try and recapture their lost rhythm as a couple and then onto napa. It is her, in napa with its luxurious gardens and resplendent wines, that they manage to romantically reconnect. Lola becomes enthralled by a property there that is in dire need of renovations, but she feels a strong sense of inspiration that this is the place she will be able to heal and that bringing the place to life will bring her back to life. The emotional sensitivity and understanding of the various types of grief are well covered and the hope it initiates is uplifting.
