Do actors make the best liars?..
Well I enjoyed this little foray into the less than glamorous lights of the acting world.
Lily Thane is the grown-up actress who is struggling to keep her long ago child-star success burning bright. Along comes Adam Harker - a rising star and old friend - who offers Lily a deal that aims to be mutually rewarding. Throw in a supporting cast of dubious friends, family and acquaintances and things start to get interesting.
Obviously, not all is at it seems and there are quite a few twists and turns along the way.
Let's Pretend was a fairly easy and quick read and I enjoyed the little bit of escapism. I can't say I particularly warmed to any of the characters that well, but perhaps that was the intention - nobody is very straightforward or likeable and they're all in some way pretending to be somebody else.
Would happily recommend if you're looking for an entertaining, quick read.
