The characters of Lottie and Tina were simply wonderful, they reminded me of myself and my own sister which added an additional layer of depth and warm to my own reading. They are juxtaposed against each other but each are exceptionally lovable and supported by the reader - we want the best for them from the very beginning.

This book did have a happy ending (which wouldn't actually happen in real life) but it was what I wanted to happen. I wanted the sisters to end up happy and actually sometimes that is the charm of the book - it might not be believable to real life but it provides a delightful escape from the woes of real life - if anyone like me is reading it during a period of unfortunate self-isolation!

Overall It was funny and emotional and sometimes serious which overall created a brilliant light read, Madeleine Reiss has perfected the art of a brilliant balance.
