I’m not usually a big fan of non-fiction books, but I really enjoyed this one. This is a lovely, heartwarming story following Kate, who decides to dump her boring desk job and start a dog walking business. As someone who loves dogs, it should be heaps of fun, right? Kate soon learns that the world of dog-walking isn’t always (pardon the pun) a walk in the park, thanks to difficult clients, dogs with highly specific needs and unreliable employees. The highs and lows of running a dog walking business were clearly communicated, and I loved reading about all the different dogs and unusual characters. Despite some of the difficulties of the job, I have no doubt it was highly rewarding and I really grew to care about some of the dogs I met throughout the book. Kate was very relatable and likeable and I thought there was the right mix of stories about dogs and more personal moments. I really wanted Kate to succeed. I would definitely recommend this book, I feel like anyone would enjoy it (but particularly someone who also likes dogs).
