This book was an instant click for me once I had seen the gorgeous bright cover. I knew nothing about the book or the Durrells before reading but I must say I highly enjoyed the story from start to finish. I now know all about the Durrells and have even started watching the tv show!
This book has so many interesting characters and the story itself is just like a big warm hug, it definitely perked me up this summer and made me dream of travelling again in the future.
Penny is our main character and this story begins with her making a trip to Corfu after her fathers death, it consists of penny finding herself in Corfu and meeting many wonderful people. To be honest it isn’t the most exciting of books but it really does do the job at being a nice cosy read.
I think if you are stuck at home wishing you were on holiday and travelling then this book will really do the job in filling the gap.
