This was such a lovely story and a great homage to the history and literature of the Durrell family.
Penny has just split from her fiancé Bruce, her father has died and it was her dearest wish to go in search of the Durrell history with him.
So this is a voyage of discovery to kind of also find herself again and what she wants out of life.
While there she immerses herself so much into Corfu and island life she literally becomes one of the locals.
She falls in love with the island and its culture and she now starts to reevaluate her future when she starts to fall in love...
The ONLY thing that spoiled this for me was the fact the ending was a bit ambiguous as to "what happens next" so was left wanting more.
Apart from that it was a perfect, exotic summer read and just a charming whimsical tale.
This is a must read for any Durrells fan whether of the novels of the TV series.
