This book is a truly enchanting magical book.
The characters are all believable and they interact so well. The plot is a same old tried and tested plot, but it is tried and tested for a reason - it works very very well.
The setting of Corfu has been described in such a beautiful, dedicated manner with such respect and admiration for the Durrell family. I was not sure when I started reading this how I would get on as I know absolutely nothing about the Durrells but now this has made me want to read more about them and makes me want to go to Corfu and sit at a little table and watch the harbour and the boats.
Reading this book in a couple of days, it was always a wrench to stop reading and a joy to pick it up and start again.
What a relaxing way to spend a couple of days. It definitely made me smile in a dark, uncertain time. Will look out for more by this author.
