Lost for Words is an utterly beautiful read about one, Loveday Cardew, unique by name and by nature. Although Loveday is a product of the darkness locked in her past she is entirely relatable and throughout the book you will find yourself willing for her to have a happy ending because she is a character that more than deserves it. The thing that I love most about Loveday is that she does not play to the usual pitfalls of characters with flawed pasts, she allows herself to change more and more as the novel goes on. But equally she is not perfect, often seeing things tinted by pessimism acquired from her losses. In fact, the whole cast of characters are enthralling in their own way: from Archie's bottomless supply of kindness; to Nathan's unending patience; even to Rob's terrifying personality traits, Butland builds such believable characters you almost expect them to come across them in the real world.

The mysteries of Loveday's past and the intricacies of her present relationships are drip fed to you seeing you gasping for more until you find that you have finished the book, leaving you reeling from all of the emotions that arise as you follow Loveday's journey. I really can't sing the praise if Lost of Words enough, it is an absolute must of a read!!!
