On the surface, this is a lovely book about books and how much they mean to people, but with the help of chapters skipping backwards in time to Loveday's past we are pulled into darker times and a more sinister back story.
So much more than I thought it was going to be at first glance, this novel is so full of depth. It is sweet, heartbreaking and heartwarming in equal measures.
I thought this was so well written and Stephanie Butland has a way of writing which makes you feel included and involved in all the little details.
I loved it and am missing all the characters already. This is one book hangover that's going to take me a while to recover from! I can't wait to read more by this author.
