We live in a world of filters, you cannot take a picture without being offered the option to add a filter. The front of this book is beautiful, romantic and relevant as the cover promises. Samira Ahmed has written this beautifully, in a way that challenges cultural perceptions and makes us consider whether what we know is true. The character of Maya Aziz is gorgeous, her character is well written and charming. You feel for her so strongly and her story evokes so much empathy, you truly feel this is a book that is well overdue and has been missing from my, and our, bookshelved. Thank you Samira for writing this and making it available for a first look, I can't wait to finish this book once it's published!
