This book started with Lucy going into labour with her second son, described in an honest, funny way. As the mother of two young children life is chaotic. Lucy is trying to keep her career as a musician on track with little help from her husband and interfering mother in law.

As the book progresses it becomes obvious that Stan with his very particular likes and dislikes as well as being exceptionally clever. Lucy continues to juggle motherhood as she comes to the conclusion that Stan is autistic.

There was some laugh out loud moments throughout and many things that a lot of new Mums will identify with. The books feels honest as Lucy struggles to get Stan seen by the right people and gives an insight into life with an autistic child. There was some sad moments that made you think.

Overall a funny, thought provoking book with a range of likeable characters. Easy to read, hard to put down once started.
