I liked this book even though I am not the intended audience. I don't have kids and don't know many people with kids so I couldn't really relate to the main character, Lucy. But It was well-written and enjoyable to read.

The book very much felt like an autobiography in the way it was written rather than fiction - there was a lot of 'telling' rather than 'showing' in the writing. So by shifting my mind to reading an autobiography I enjoyed it a lot.

But it was a compelling story, and I just read, assuming it was the author's experiences rather than fiction which for me made it quite a compelling read, as she explained the feeling of overwhelm and simply coming to the end of her tether really well. I can't imagine the stress of having an autistic child and I feel the author did a great job of expressing some of what the lifestyle would be like.

It was well written, and one I read in a couple of days. A heartwarming read.
