From reading the blurb and first impression I was desperate to read on. It had the promise of being hugely witty, wildly entertaining and yet handling a sensitive topic realistically and somewhat sensitively.
Sadly this book did not deliver that.
The humour was missing and what was in there was nothing above the norm. More a repetition than humour and some just not funny at all sadly.
The tone of the writing is a little off for me. The children seem to be wildly inconvenient and comparisons to what the author would have done pre children and with children seemed a chore. Not more beer gardens and more parks !
I found the book quite monotonous and hard to finish.
The end was not a surprise at all but maybe the repetition and tone lead us to be far less surprised than the way it was described by the author. No lightbulb moment for me I’m
Afraid.
I’m sad I didn’t like this book more and I don’t doubt this lady has her hands full but as a book it’s just not
For me I’m sorry and I really struggled with it
