Imelda aka Madame Burova is a bonafide psychic with skills passed down from her Romany mother. Her life in the 70s was intertwined with Jeanie; a young wannabe singer and Ruby; a mother with a new job eager to make her mark. Each of the women has her own story to tell and individual life but inevitably weave together.
In the modern day, Imelda is retiring and with her retirement we is also giving up keeping two secrets she has kept for all of her professional life, contained in two envelopes.
I enjoyed The Keeper of Lost Things by Ruth Hogan that I read a number of years ago so I’m very intrigued by this story. I am also attracted by the diversity of women and the beauty of the imagery portrayed in just the first few chapters.
Bound to be a mysterious yet beautiful story.
