Disappointing and slow going
As a huge huge fan of this author and The Keeper of Lost Things being a book I adored and read again I expected it to be enchanting and wonderful.
I really struggled with this book and in fact so much that it too me weeks to finish which is a absolutely unheard of for me.
I didn’t warm to the characters or yeh story but kept expecting more and for my mind to be changed.
I would never quit on a book I’d been given to review as that defeats the object of entering and I am bitterly disappointed to say that if it hadn’t been for a review I would have quit.
The ending was weak and nothing wowed me at all.
This is definitely not the writers usual standard and I would never be put off from one bad book but this is not one I’d recommend.
Hugely grateful for the copy to review and I am so sorry (and shocked) that this was not the five star fave review that I so wanted it to be
