I came across this book on the Readers First website. The cover looked intriguing but I was a little unsure after reading the blurb. However, I enjoyed the writing style in the first impression, which was easy to read and gave a good feel for the characters so I was pleased to win a review copy.

Madame Burova has collected many secrets in her years as a fortune teller but it is Billie's secret that is coming to the forefront as transitions into retirement.

The time split between the 70s and now was a great format for the book and I found it interesting reading about life in the 1970s; not all of it good! The characters live through a rollercoaster of emotions, a journey which the reader accompanies them on.

The pacing was good and I always wanted to read on. Having not read any other books by Ruth Hogan, I am now intrigued to find and read the author's other works.
