I really loved this book. I read it with my son who is Max's age so it was really relatable to us. The author really caught the spirit of a 9 year old boy and especially that loneliness of being an only child during lockdown. I found this a lovely book to read with my son as it's appealing to children but there are also some really hilarious funny and relatable bits in which appeal to those of us who had to try to be good parents and or work from hone during lockdown. I think this will be a really nice book for kids to read in the future to help them understand what happened during the pandemic, the only thing is it's written as if it was all over after that first lockdown when that was really just the first bit. (maybe there's room for a sequel?). Overall a lovely book on a difficult topic to get right, lovely sense of community and perfectly told through the eyes of a 9 year old.
