I thoroughly enjoyed this book - it was both entertaining and informative. The author really capture the essence of how children experience the world. I think this will be a great tool for both explaining to children in the future what the pandemic was like, but also for helping the children who lived through it to process that experience. I love the relationships in this book - just as in real life not everyone gets on with everybody and there are lots of unusual or dysfunctional relationships but this is all part of what it feels like to be part of a community. I particularly enjoyed that Max went through a journey, of managing emotions and coming up against challenges but also that he worked these through in his head. It's such an important process for children to understand and it was expressed in an accessible and age-appropriate way. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone with kids.
