So I openly admit, there was a slight roll of the eyes in exasperation of reading a childrens book, as being of a more mature age it seemed a disappointment waiting to happen. I was very wrong, in fact this book deserves a very very good caption. The flow is perfectly paced for any age, and the humour springs from the page energetically enthusing the reader to read on. Max and his magic tricks that often fail, but that then lead on to genuine magnificence, is a testimony to teaching us all to work hard at our dreams and to never give up. That sort of persistence will lead to greatness and a sense of purpose being fulfilled, is a life well lived.
