I was really looking forward to reading this book. I read a lot of world war two books and the subject matter of Mischling was something I knew very little about. I knew that reading about how twins were experimented on at Auschwitz at the hands of the evil Josef Mengele was never going to be an easy one, but there was a gap in my knowledge and I was intrigued to learn more.
However, I really struggled with the writing of this book, or should I say the translation. I think it unfolds really well and the story is told well, however the sentences are clunky and at times just don't make much sense. I found I really couldn't get into the narrative as this was jarring so much so have had to give up on the book.
Will be interested to see if anyone else found the same...
