This book started with the two main characters Pearl and Stasha arriving in Auschwitz. They were instantly taken to the ‘zoo’ because they were identical twins. They were then experimented on and made different. Stasha was made half death and half blind and Pearl was infected with a disease. During there time in the zoo there is a musical concert and after this Pearl disappears. This then leads to Stasha becoming desperate to find her sister or get revenge on the person that put them through so much torture. This book was really emotional as it shows the difference between both girls story’s and shows the pain they feel when they are separated. This books shows some of the horrors that occurred during the holocaust and shows how two young girls would of coped with this.
