This is the second of Anton's novels; but this first one I had read, and it was no issue reading as a standalone. It has however made me buy the first and his third in this series.
Set in the 1930's in Mayfair, there is a family of people at the Buckingham Hotel; from the chambermaids to demonstration dancers and the manager and the Lord Egerton's daughter herself. Tough times are coming with a war on the horizon making its way through Europe. It is important for the hotel to work hard to secure an investor; but as their help gets closure; a fire rips through the grand ballroom of the Buckingham Hotel. Who would do this? How will they survive?
Then there is romance, Chambermaid Nancy is awaiting her love Raymond De Guise to return from America. Helene has lost her great love of her life; but could she open up to love again?

Moonlight over Mayfair is a great book. I did not even know Anton Du Beke was an author as well as a brilliant dancer.
This is an enchanting book part of what looks like a brilliant series.
