Erica James writes easy reading, flowing romances. This one is full of interesting characters and although they can be a bit predictable there are always enjoyable twists. In this case you know there are some family secrets, which eventually reveal themselves. Some are more obvious than others. The author has set the book in a lovely beachside setting of a childhood home Naomi, the mother, is reluctant to leave. The focus of the story gradually moves from her relocation to the dynamics within the newly forming partnerships. Some are easy and others are fraught with misunderstanding and angst. Each person in the story is gradually changed by the events, some becoming more tolerant and others gaining more backbone. Inevitably everyone settles into the new relationships and begins to work out a way through and beyond the issues. A very enjoyable read.
