Reviews are of course a very personal thing so I write this from my experience. The cover of the book itself is wonderful and I eagerly anticipated sitting down and turning the pages.
I initially found it very inviting, two daughters at very different points in their lives, a mother who has her own life… which invariably isn’t taken into account by her daughters !
There were places where I just felt the characters got a bit too clogged , as in over explained. I completely understood where the author was coming from but I
Like my stories to flow. To escape within the story whereas I found myself putting it down more and more.
Sadly I found that I started reading another book and though I fully intended to go back to finish Mothers and Daughters I didn’t, and haven't.
I am certain that another reader might take this on holiday and thoroughly enjoy the book immensely. Sadly it was not for me.
