This was for me a very easy read, which is sometimes just what you need. I have read one of this authors books before and quite enjoyed it . It covers many themes which include coercive behaviour, family bonds , bereavement, domestic violence and of course the relationship between mothers and daughters. The story centres around Naomi who lost her husband two years ago and starts a relationship with a man who she met many years ago. We find out her husband is not who he is portrayed to be and she stayed with him for the wrong reasons. Next is the two daughters who are very different in personalities and both find out they are pregnant. They both have different relationships with their partners , then we have Ellis and Lucas who are both outsiders and we learn how they fit in. I have only given this book 3 stars because it is very predictable in parts but it is a nice and easy read.
