Mother’s and Daughters, as the title would suggest, follows a woman and her two adult daughters. This book deals with both family dynamics and romantic relationships, especially focusing on the themes of pregnancy and motherhood. This book made for relatively easy reading, whilst touching on some heavy topics, and I think would definitely make for a good beach read.

I did feel that the book could have been 50-100 pages shorter. I also found the dialogue was sometimes unrealistic and slightly awkward - the characters over explained things which, whilst perhaps designed to benefit the reader, made the characters come across as unreal and took me out of the book. I also felt that some of the plot points were predictable, or just too convenient, particularly at the end of the story.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read. Personally - I would have really liked for the book to expand on some of the heavier topics that were mentioned. I understand this would have made for a very different book, but I felt it was a shame to bring up these topics and not explore them any further, as I can imagine lots of women being able to relate to some of the things that Naomi and her daughters went through.
