I have read Erica James before, usually on holiday when I swap whatever book I have finished with one left by a previous reader on a sharing shelf. Typical of this genre, it is an easy read, pretty feel-good and you quickly get into the scenario. The characters are a little lacking in depth but it is the round-and-round of the same themes that disappointed me a bit. There is all of life here - marriage, relationships, babies and the lack of, siblings, etc however the story never really gets engrossing.

I do like the setting geographically and the description of homes and daily life. There is a good balance of conversation, inner thoughts and description. It's a little more engaging than some of these family-life stories. I would recommend it as a holiday-type read, as you can pick it up without having to re-read previous chapters to remind yourself who's who.
